Hallo Armando,

Hi seramanna,

tracking works fine.
So the requirements you should check to have successfull GoTos are:
1. good Polar alignment (with bad polar alignment you can still have "goog" tracking thanks to autoguiding...);
2. good mount balancing (it's critical for GoTo);
3. worm<->worm wheel coupling not too tight;
4. appropriate backlash compensation values on Ra and Dec;
5. appropriate GoTo speed (according to motor specs and overall reduction ratio);
6. appropriate current at GoTo speed (according to motor specs);
7. enough torque at GoTo speed to exclude steps loss (according to motor and mount specs and according to the load);
8. right observatory location in CDC.

If you know the nominal current for your motors be sure to use it as GoTo current.
Keep in mind that if you want x Ampere on each motor phase you need to set 2x Ampere on LFEP!
If you're using a LFEP V40 be sure to enable V40 for GoTo. I suggest to keep it off while tracking.

Then try using low GoTo speeds for debug purposes...
If you see GoTo working then you can try to increase iteratively GoTo speed to figure out the max GoTo speed for your setup. Using speed ramp can help to achieve higher speeds and to exclude steps loss. Keep in mind that speed ramp starts from backlash speed (so that if you set backlash compensation speed equal to GoTo speed then ramp won't work at all).

I hope it helps.

P.s. To evaluate GoTo accuracy you should speak in terms of arcsec...

LittleFoot Elegance Photo / Goto läuft ungenau!!!!!!!!

Hallo zusammen,

Hi gpaolo,

you're using an old driver.
Please download the latest version from SourceForge and let me know if the issue still occurs.

LFEP ASCOM / Possible bug with flip/guidepulse
« Last post by gpaolo on Sunday, 25.01.15 - 23:37:57 - CET »
Hi, after a (very long) pause mainly due to weather, in the last two nights I have observed a strange behavior right after pierflip: I was always loosing the guide in the first image after pierflip.
Tonight, when I noticed that, I opened the ASCOM control panel to move the guide star back in position.
There I saw a very strange thing: the flipping indicator was blinking, and I was getting in the low window a message telling me that the slewing was in progress and the guide pulse was being ignored.
As soon as I pressed one of the motion control key, the pierflip indicator stopped blinking and the mount accepted again the pulse guide command, and the guide went back to normal.
The complete message is: pulseguide command received while slewing - ignored!
In the log, the slew was correctly indicated as finished one minute before.
Attached there is a screenshot.

I don't know if this was the exact thing going on also all other times that I lost the guide after pierflip, but it seems to me quite probable.
Any idea?

Bye!

Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Parameter zum Einstellen der LF VPower auf Vixen GP
« Last post by SurfaceCleanerZ on Sunday, 04.01.15 - 18:37:24 - CET »
Hi,

Display128SD_GPS_SA.fir
Display128SD_GPS_SA+.fir
Display128SD_GPS_SA+UP.fir
Display128SD_GPS_SA+UPGT.fir

Was heisst UP? Und was UPGT?

Kann die LF VPower die Echtzeituhr auch? Hat noch wer eine solche Platine über? Oder dessen .brd Datei?

MfG,
Stefan

Hier nochmal mein Versuch "Kontakt "aufzunehmen  :(

Hallo Rajiva,

Helfe uns doch bitte !

Liebe Grüße und CS
Karl-Heinz

User 'rajiva' has blocked your personal message.
